FACILITATING CHANGE

IN EAST TENNESSEE

Tennessee Democracy Network (TDN) is a 501 c3 nonprofit committed to nonpartisan civic leadership and civic education initiatives that build community through democracy in East Tennessee. We shift culture and systems by bringing together individuals, organizers, civic leaders and local influencers to tackle pressing civic challenges. Our efforts address those challenges through strengthening connections throughout East Tennessee, fostering inclusive civic engagement and equitable voter education and participation.

Our initiatives focus on three main goals: local civic education, civic research and communications, and our only statewide initiative, Tennessee Campus Democracy Network (TCDN), which is dedicated to leading nonpartisan support for campuses fostering civic competencies.

The Tennessee Democracy Network (TDN) is a nonprofit civic incubator for relational organizing and civic literacy initiatives that develop and deepen cultures of nonpartisan democratic engagement in East Tennessee.

Since its inception in 2021, a diverse group of community stakeholders have come together to discuss their unique perspectives on fostering local civic competencies. TDN began our efforts with the Tennessee Campus Democracy Network (TCDN), an initiative aimed at growing civic engagement across Tennessee college campuses. TCDN remains Tennessee Democracy Network’s only statewide initiative, while our other efforts seek to address systemic and personal barriers affecting civic engagement in East Tennessee.

TDN is a nonprofit that facilitates local civic literacy initiatives building nonpartisan communities in East Tennessee. We are on a mission to change the culture around voting and to increase civic engagement by helping to close the race and age gap.
